Joe and Jeni Johnston and their four energetic kids made the move from the country to Chardon, and they love it! Walking to the square, enjoying playgrounds, visiting the library — it’s new and exciting. With their prayers for good health answered, they enjoy it even more.
Feeling challenged to serve at church and be faithful with the resources God provides, the Johnston family jumped into youth group, worship team, children’s ministry and the coffee shop. “It’s amazing to serve with our kids. They help and see us involved in what God is doing.”
King David tops the spiritual hero list for the Johnston’s — he made mistakes but believed in God and followed His will. If given a new family name, they would choose MEIR, meaning giving light. They want to bring joy and shine God’s light to others. We think they already are!
This family loves more time together over summer break. They find camping with a large group of relatives on several weekends is an amazing way to relax! They also play board games and card games. And, hosting parties or dinners, and having fun are their specialties.
The twinkling lights and holiday show at Tower City followed by Christmas Eve with family makes the season bright for this family. Waking up to open gifts with cousins is the best! Everyday traditions include a recently started Bible study, eating dinner together and sharing three things about their day, without interruption. (Ask them their tricks of the trade!)
